bridge jumping world record attempt

Fancy grabbing yourself a world record?

Got a head for heights?

Don’t mind getting wet?

On Sunday the 4th of September. At Loch Faskally, Pitlochry, Scotland.

A group of fun seekers will be setting a new world record of bridge jumping into water. The bridge is the Clunie footbridge that spans Loch Faskally in Perthshire. The bridge is 35ft to 40ft above the water (water level in the Loch goes up and down during the day) and there is a 40ft swim to the bank.

Goal 1, is to have as many people jumping at one time from the bridge.

Goal 2, to have the greatest accumulated height jumped at the same time from a bridge.

Goal 3. This is the main challenge. We have 1 hour to accumulate as many jumps as possible. And the total jumped height will be the world record. 3000ft is our starting target.

This event is run by ClanAdventures in association with Perth College Outdoor Adventure Department. And all money raised will be going to the Outdoor Adventure Student Fund. This fund helps students to buy and pay for items that would not be covered by the college funds or other channels of finance. We therefore require a minimum of £10 in sponsorship from each participant, that’s it. A day bridge jumping for a minimum of £10 this is a saving of £30 if you’re doing this any other time.

All you will need to bring on the day is a towel, change of footwear, wetsuit and bouyancy aid (BA). Both wetsuits and BA can be hired on the...more
