Description of Wildwood Bushcraft
Highlands based, ecologist-led Bushcraft and survival school. We run courses throughout the year at beautiful woodland sites on the West Coast of Scotland and in the Trossachs National Park, as well as courses in Sussex and expeditions to Arctic Sweden and Canada
We offer a range of courses for individuals and families, as well as tailored events for organisations, corporates or small groups. Our courses include Bushcraft and survival weekends, woodland crafts, wildlife tracks and signs, fire by friction, knots and cord making, wild food, plants used in Bushcraft and navigation skills.
The school was founded by Leon Durbin, who is both a qualified Bushcraft instructor and an experienced wildlife biologist with a PhD and a BSc in Ecology. Our activities are fully insured and carefully planned in a framework of safety for participants and care for the location. We take an environmentally responsible approach, based on a sound ecological understanding. All our courses give you hands-on experience and let you think things through for yourself, providing expert guidance when needed. The skills we teach are empowering, practical and great fun, and you never know, they may just save your life!
