Description of Kempston Outdoor Centre
Kempston Outdoor Centre is a non residential multi activity centre, owned and operated by Bedford Borough Council. Situated on a quiet site overlooking the River Ouse, the centre offers varied activities for pre - booked groups and individuals. The centre has an outside high ropes course, canoes, kayaks and touring kayaks for use on the river, indoor and outdoor climbing walls plus archery and initiative tasks.
The centre is perfectly situated for schools,youth, private groups or parties that require an outdoor adventurous activity experience lasting just a few hours or a full day programme.Sessions are tailored to your groups needs and always endeavor to meet your aims and objectives.
In addition to group activities the centre has climbing clubs for from 4-17 year olds as well as public climbing sessions three times a week.It is also a D of E East Region, Open Award centre and can provide all aspects of expedition training and support including equipment and staff hire.
Safety is a high priority at the centre and this is reflected in the centres Learning Outside the Classroom and Adventure Activities Licensing Service activity provider approval.

Kayaking
CloseWith the River Ouse at the bottom of the centres grounds the centre has a wealth of boats and opportunities to get out and enjoy paddlesport. Paddlepower, star awards or general taster sessions are offered as well as overnight touring trips, especially ideal for DofE expedition groups.

Price Per Person: From £10
Paddlesport sessions are generally 1.5 hours or more in length working in groups of eight.

CloseKempston has an indoor climbing wall offering roped climbing and bouldering,tuition and coaching from qualified staff, including NICAS and CWA courses. The outdoor wall is 40 feet high with an abseil platform. Ideal for schools,clubs and groups.
Public climbing sessions three days a week.

Price Per Person: From £4
Public climbing is £4 for students/concessions or £5 adults. Group prices from £8 pp (one hour with instructor) for pre booked groups. (1:8 ratio).
