Description of ProAdventure Activities - Ardeche

Most people who want to learn to canoe often remark that they wish it was warmer! Warmer weather, and warmer water. We totally understand this. For some people the thrill of getting cold and wet is just not part of the fun.

If you are one of those people, or if you just fancy a lovely holiday learning to canoe then this is the holiday for you. Based in the glorious Ardeche region of the South of France, the weather is warm (in fact you could call it HOT!) and the water is a lovely temperature that makes falling in a pleasant pastime (not that we expect you to fall in often!).

ProAdventure is an established adventure holiday company, offering you a wide range of activities tailored for individuals, families, groups, and companies.

We have been running UK adventure and activity holidays from our base in Llangollen in North Wales since 1991, and are fully insured and accredited by the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority (AALA). Our customers include individuals, families, groups, companies and local authorities, who come on activity holidays and adventure holidays, team-building events, and skills training courses in North Wales, Scotland and France.

Our aim is simply to provide you with the best adventure experience!

Canoeing

A five day open canoe and/or kayak course, based in the south of France, camping within walking distance of the river. We will look at the basic skills required to get yourself paddling in control, and we will use the stunning Ardeche gorge as a test piece as we descend it in three days camping out twice on the way down. This is a week of learning to paddle in this stunning area that is world famous for its limestone gorges, wildlife, awesome food and great paddling. The gorge is 40km long, approximately 300 m deep with two marked camp areas. it winds its way throughout the area, making open canoe or kayak the most effective way to travel.
