Description of The Rock Centre

The Rock Centre has been providing active adventure since 1979 to many generations of people. We work in a very beautiful part of Devon offering a truly amazing diversity of venues and we welcome the chance of sharing this with all of our customers whether young or old.

A great family adventure, brilliant birthday treat, school outing, corporate challenge, stag or hen party activity.
Groups, individuals, adults, children, special needs, whatever your age or ability there is plenty of excitement for you. Try it for yourself at one of Devon's favourite days out.

We want your time with us to be fun, safe, challenging and memorable. Remember limits exist only in one's mind so go for it.

Abseiling

Abseiling is possible almost anywhere...... from cliffs, bridges, viaducts, buildings, dams, trees....... If you want to abseil, the Rock Centre can provide you with all the necessary equipment as well as the expertise. Wherever it is, provided there is a safe anchor for our ropes and a slope or drop, the chances are... you can probably abseil down it.

Caving

Caving is a fascinating and unique adventure. While caves all have much in common, all are different. Individual cave systems have their own special characteristics often peculiar to the region in which they occur. In Devon our caves are intricate and complicated, often muddy, but providing perfect introductory trips as well as more challenging routes for the more experienced. Our caving staff are familiar with all the caving areas of Britain as well as many European sites. Their understanding and deep love of caves enables them to impart confidence to first time cavers, many of whom are often filled with apprehension at the idea of exploring this alien environment. We are masters of turning negative feelings into a very positive and enjoyable experience.

Abseiling is a simple concept and very easy to learn. Modern equipment allows us to abseil in relative comfort and, in an environment controlled by experienced and qualified instructors, is completely safe. It still provides a challenging and undoubtedly thrilling experience for most people. This makes it an ideal tool for use by charities to raise money through sponsorship. There are countless high buildings all over Britain, which have provided us with the vital ingredient to complete successful fund raising abseil events for numerous very deserving charities.

Location of The Rock Centre

Location: East Devon & Exeter, Devon, West Country

Chudleigh is centrally situated within easy reach of any part of Devon. It has many historical connections and even boasts it's own stately home which is open to the public. Lying beside the River Teign it is at the lower end of the beautiful Teign Valley. Just off the main A38 dual carriageway, Chudleigh is about ten miles west of Exeter. There are bus services to Newton Abbot, Exeter, Plymouth. Main line railways stations are only ten and six miles distant at Exeter and Newton Abbot respectively.
