Description of Yorkshire Dales Guides
Yorkshire Dales Guides was established in 1991 by Dave Gallivan and is based in Stainforth near Settle in the Three Peaks are of the Yorkshire Dales. He has been joined by Pam Hickin and together with other local, experienced instructors have been providing activities for a wide range of ages and abilities ever since. All the instructors live and work in the area and are very active in the outdoors with most being members of the local cave and mountain rescue team.
We are a small and friendly team who have the ability to be flexible and adapt events to meet the needs of groups. YDG run open sessions for individuals or you can book your own instructor for a group. We have an indoor facility which is kitted out for teaching vertical Caving techniques in a safe, dry environment and also as a base for other activities. We offer Caving at all levels, Climbing, Navigation Skills from basic to Gold level NNAS courses, GPS and geocaching, Team Challenge Events, Guided Walks and Safety Cover for events such as the Three Peaks. Also Team Building from small low level tasks to real time surface and underground rescues. AALA registered.
